. تحكي هذه الحلقة عن تاريخ تطور اللغة الصينية مع تركيز خاص على الحروف الصينية. تمر الحلقة على العصور المختلفة في الصين وما صاحبها من استخدام لحروف ورموز مختلفة، وصاحبها كذلك طرق مختلفة للكتابة والتي انبثق منها فن الخط الصيني. تتحدث الحلقة أيضًا عن حقبة Han والتي تم فيها توحيد لشكل الأحرف على مستوى الصين. تتطرق الحلقة في جزئها الأخير إلى مشكلة خطيرة واجهت الصين بسبب انتشار تكنولوجيا الكمبيوتر بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية.
